MONIQUE HUBBS-MICHIEL

Monique Hubbs-Michiel is an accredited judge with Equine Canada, holding cards in hunters/jumpers, dressage and hack/equitation. She is also a certified EC steward.

Monique is a certified Equine Canada and NCCP Level 2 coach and is applying for her upgrade to Competitive Coach Specialist under the new Equine Canada/NCCP coaching certification program in 2011.

In addition to her Equine Canada credentials, Monique is a retired RCMPoilce officer and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Criminology) and a Journalism Diploma. Monique has competed regionally and internationally in several sports, including the World Police Games in track and field and equine events, as well as the World Masters in track and field. She lives in Beaumont, Alberta with her husband Rob and son Brodie.

Monique takes on students in every discipline and at every level – from those at the very novice point in their riding – to students competing in “A” circuit shows. While having competed herself successfully in all disciplines (and breed shows), Monique’s students have had great success over the years in the show ring!

2010 was another great show season for Monique and her students – in both hunters/jumpers and dressage. The season culminated with a great show experience at Spruce Meadows during the Champions’ Welcome, while the Alberta and Regional Dressage Championships resulted in several championships between Monique and two of her students.

The season wound-up with the Amberlea Meadows Harvest Horse Show (home to Monique and her students), again with great results!

Monique is a firm believer on ongoing education for herself in the areas of judging, coaching and riding. She works with her own coaches on a regular basis – to provide the best possible training for her own students and their horses. She never hesitates to learn from those around her – including her own students!

Monique (Kornerstone Equestrian) trains out of Amberlea Meadows Equestrian Centre and accepts students with their own horses, on a leased horse provided by Monique, or on a haul-in basis. She is also available for clinics/training at your own facility.

LESSONS: $25.00 (Private or Semi-Private)

TRAINING RIDES: $35.00

SHOW HELP: $25.00/day

CLINICS: rates vary/clinic size
